What Motivates You To Lose Weight?

There was a conversation around the gym the other day about what motivates individuals to work out and lose weight?  Specifically to seek out a personal trainer to lose weight? This question is interesting because it generates a lot of different answers.

Some of the common answers includes: illness, illness that could lead to death, vanity, special life events including weddings.  The number one answer (to the question of what motivates an individual to lose weight) in the mind of a personal trainer is the hope that the individual extends their quality of life.

Of course everyone will answer these questions differently, hence why i wanted to pose the question here: What motivates you to lose weight?

  1. Hi, saw your blog on the WWBH Linky, I am trying to lose weight at the moment and be more healthy, I am managing to lose about 1 pound a week which I am really happy with, my reason for my new regime is to be more healthy and show a good example to my children! I am actually logging my progress weekly on one of my blogs which I think is helping me to motivate myself!

  3. I am down to the last 10 pounds, so I have to admit my motivation is pure vanity. I want to look like someone who works out as much as I do!

Thanks for following me at Uberlibrarian/SarahFitness!

  4. My father was a 300 pound man and a smoker. One day, he said to me and my sisters that he would stop smoking if we promised to never smoke. He never smoke another cigarette. A few years later he started working out and cutting out the junk food. Now he goes to the gym 5 days a week and is in better shape than he's ever been in his whole life.

    Great site...following you! :)

I really like your blog - I'm trying to get mine off the ground and was wondering if you could come check it out and consider following.

  7. I have been struggling to find what really motivates me to lose weight. About 2 years ago, I was EXTREMELY motivated and lost almost 20 lbs in one month, because I was getting married. Now I can't find anything at all that does it enough that I would actually NOT cheat.

I'm your newest follower from Coffee Talk Blog Hop!

Also, I wanted to tell you personally that I have a site that allows women to engage and really connect with each other. You won't find the same unpromising atmosphere that you normally do elsewhere. Our site allows you to gain INSTANT followers (yes, they really do follow, you'll see), INCREASE YOUR TRAFFIC, and have a chance to connect with some great women. The traffic we generate for our members is usually VERY good considering we're a fairly new site. In just 3 weeks after our relaunch, we've accumulated over 10,500 posts! Please come take a look and I guarantee you will be impressed with the results.

    Hope to see you there!

    Sincerely,

What motivates me to exercise is my skinny pre-pregnancy clothes hanging in my closet. I have to look at them everyday to get to my transitional clothing.
